In this post, I will discuss how you can exclude certain URLs from the redirection. You can also consider it as Whitelisting URLs.

How it works?

Let’s say you have set up the app to redirect US visitors to the US store. So, whenever the US customers visit any page of your store they will be redirected as per the redirect rule.

Now, the store contains a blog page which should be accessible by every visitor. Basically, the blog pages should not redirect the visitors as per the redirect rules created under the app.

So, in order to make the blog page accessible to every visitor without getting redirected, the Whitelist URL feature can be used.

How to use this feature?

Using the feature is quite easy. Here are the steps involved:

1. Go to “Settings“.

2. Navigate to “Whitelist URLs settings“.

3. Click on “Add new Whitelist Rule“.

There are 2 ways to set up the whitelist rule in the app:

a) Exact– You need to input the exact same URL which you want to whitelist. It can be used in the case of whitelisting any sole URL like “contact-us” or “about-us” page.

Let’s say you want to exclude the “contact us” page from the redirection. Simply Add the precise URL and select the type “Exact“.

b) Contain – This option will allow you to exclude multiple URLs by simply using the keyword. You need to input the keyword. So if the URL contains the keyword, the redirection rules will not be triggered.

Let’s say you want to exclude every URL containing the keyword “adidas“. Simply add “adidas” and select the type as “Contain“.
